Gang Member Shot In Washington Heights: Cops

Two men got out of a car and shot a man in the legs after 1 a.m. near 105th and Morgan, police said.

CHICAGO, IL - What appears to be a gang-related shooting was reported after midnight Wednesday in the city's Washington Heights neighborhood, just a few blocks east of Beverly.

Police say a 28-year-old man was walking in the 1000 block of West 105th Street - between Morgan and Aberdeen streets - at 1:48 a.m. when two men got out of a burgundy Grand Prix and fired multiple shots, striking him in the leg.

The victim, who police say is a documented gang member, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in stable condition.

No one was in custody as of 11 a.m. Wednesday. Both offenders were only described as black men.

Area South detectives continue to investigate, police said.
