11-Year Old Sexually Assaulted In Chicago Public Library: Report

A man who had already been banned from the library for inappropriate behavior is accused of the sexual assault.

CHICAGO — Police say a man who had already been banned from the Chicago Public Library's Walker Branch at 111th and Hoyne in Morgan Park sexually assaulted a young girl there Monday afternoon, according to an ABC-7 Chicago report. The 11-year-old victim was in a room at the library around 4 p.m. when her mother stepped away and the man came in and started talking to her.

He then sexually assaulted the girl and fled on food. He was found shortly after library security called police for help.

The man had not been identified as of early Tuesday afternoon. The victim was in stable condition at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park at the time of the ABC report.
