Hale Avenue Apartments Burglarized While Residents Work
Police have reported a pattern of daytime burglaries at apartments near the Metra Rock Island tracks in Beverly.

CHICAGO — Apartment units on Hale Avenue near the Rock Island train tracks in Beverly have been burglarized during the day on three different occasions in recent weeks, 22nd District police said in a community alert. In all reported incidents, someone enters the apartments through a window or unlocked door and steals jewelry and small electronics.
The thieves have apparently targeted buildings on Hale Avenue, which is just east of the Metra Rock Island tracks. Daytime burglaries were reported in the 10500 block of Hale on April 5, the 10300 block of Hale on May 2 and the 10600 block of Hale on May 7.
Police said all incidents have occurred while the residents were away at work.

19th Ward Ald. Matt O'Shea told residents to "remain vigilant" in the wake of the burglaries, and to report any suspicious behavior spotted in the area. Police urge residents to ensure the entry door to their building is locked and to secure all windows and doors.
"Working together, we can keep our community safe," O'Shea said.
