Knife-Wielding Robbers Target Man On Western Avenue

CHICAGO — A man walking along Western Avenue near 108th Street was robbed late Saturday night by two men armed with a knife, police said in a community alert issued to residents.

The two men are African-American and are believed to be between 20 and 25 years old. They are both about 5'7" and were wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black jeans while demanding the victim's property around 11 p.m., police said. One of the men wore a red vest over his sweatshirt.

Police have connected this to a similar incident earlier this month on Dec. 13 in which a man was robbed at gunpoint a few blocks away near 105th and Western by two people meeting the same description.
