Live Like John Softball Tournament: More Than $13K Raised
Follow here as we keep an eye on preparations for the 'Live Like John' Softball Tournament set for June 15.

CHICAGO - The 'Live Like John' Softball Tournament returns for its ninth year on Saturday, June 15 at St. Rita High School. The all-day event supports the John McNicholas Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, which was created in memory of Beverly neighborhood resident John McNicholas. McNicholas died at age 15 of a brain tumor.
Raffle prizes at the softball tournament include airline tickets, concert tickets, White Sox tickets and Blackhawks tickets.
As of June 11, $13,250 raised on 90 donations. The foundation has set a $15,000 goal. On team, Team Hounds, has accounted for more than half of the donations so far. Make a donation here.

John McNicholas was a freshman baseball player at St. Rita when he was diagnosed with a pediatric brain tumor. John died within nine months of being diagnosed. Since his death in 2011, John's parents, Ed and Amy McNicholas, who are residents of the Beverly community, established the foundation in his memory.
