Local Business Falls Victim To Scam
The Beverly Area Planning Association asks residents to support Jimmy Jamm's Sweet Potato Cafe after the business was scammed this week.

CHICAGO, IL -- The Beverly Area Planning Association has asked neighborhood residents to support a small local business that fell victim to a scam this week.
According to a Facebook post from BAPA, Jimmy Jamm Sweet Potato Pies, Inc. at 1844 W. 95th St. is out $500 after someone called the business pretended to be from ComEd and asked the business owner to forward money to them.
The owner did, thinking the call was legitimate, but found out later it was a scam.

“We are hoping that some of you will take a minute to stop in to Jimmy Jamm's over the next few days and make a purchase,” BAPA wrote in a statement. “This business is owned by a great family, and they are active supporters of our local schools and other neighborhood organizations.”
Jimmy Jamm is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day.
