“The Game Masters are trained and dedicated to teaching everyone how to play,” said Jennifer Brown, owner of the Rock Island Public House. “The four hours move along very quickly because there’s never a dull moment.”
Players will choose and adopt one of the pre-created characters to begin the Drinking and Dragons adventure.

Tables are pre-set to create play for up to six players. Adventuring parties can move through the game with the option of forging new allies by joining other adventurers.
Food and beverages are on hand for purchase throughout the evening. Seating for the event begins at 3:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to register to play, arrive early for seating, setting up a tab and preparing for game play at exactly 4 p.m.
Ryan Barth from Red’s the People’s Pie introduced the idea to the owners and will be on site Sunday with his food offerings.
Red’s is a Detroit style pan pizza made with a special butter beer dough and affectionately named “The People’s Pie” because of its popularity with the greater South Side. Rock Island craft beers from the Midwest round out the dinner fare.
Magic Ticket $25
To the delight of the Rock Island Public House owners, the founders of Humanitix earmark all booking fees for children’s charities around the globe. Humanitix founders, high school friends Josh Ross, a hedge fund analyst, and Adam McCurdie, an engineer, founded the event ticketing platform Humanitix asking themselves:
“What if there was a ticketing company where the booking fee profits actually go towards improving the lives of people around the world instead of making shareholders rich?”
Of course, owners Jennifer and Dave Brown were taken with this mystical initiative.
“I believe our loyal patrons love this idea, too,” said Dave Brown. “We have the most eclectic mix of individuals here but they would all want extra fees to benefit children in need.”
Through Humanitix $25 reserves a seat at a table with one of the world class Game Masters for up to four hours of play. Sunday’s experience will be an evening of Tabletop “Role Playing” games under the direction of professional Game Masters leading a One Shot Adventure.
The humane choice for tickets - Humanitix - donates 100% of profits from booking fees to children’s charities.
