Marist High School Football Searching For New Defensive Coordinator

CHICAGO — Marist High School is seeking a motivated, energetic and passionate person to be an assistant football coach who will serve as the high school’s next defensive coordinator. Marist is a member of the Chicago Catholic League/East Suburban Catholic League. The high school competes in the IHSA Class 8A football.

The position will report directly to the head football coach. Responsibilities for the defensive coordinator include:

  • Assist in coaching and mentoring student-athletes to compete at a high level both on the field and in the classroom.
  • Assist with the organization of all team practices, including individual instruction and daily play scripts.
  • Development of weekly game plans, and call the defensive plays during games.
  • Participate in program and team development activities throughout the entire calendar year
  • Oversee all data input on the defensive side of the ball through Hudl.
  • Maintain an environment that places value on student-athlete and staff safety, mental health, and overall well-being.
  • Foster a competitive and hardworking culture on the defensive side of the ball that matches the overall program culture.
  • Participate in and help plan youth football camps throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or higher, and previous experience calling plays on the varsity level.
