Marist RedHawks Commit to Colleges in Signing Ceremony
Sixteen Marist seniors confirm plans to continue academic and athletic careers at the college level.

CHICAGO, IL -- Marist High School’s National Letter of Intent signing ceremony April 12 saw 16 seniors confirming their plans to continue their academic and athletic careers at the college level. The ceremony was held in the high school’s RedHawk Theater.
Derrick Ashford (Ashburn) will continue his wrestling career at University of Dubuque.
Bobby Hawkinson (Frankfort) will attend and play basketball for New York University. Basketball player Maggie Robertson (Orland Park) will play for St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.

The lacrosse program had three students sign. Matt Jones (Mt. Greenwood) will attend and play for St. Ambrose University. David O’Neil (Oak Forest) will continue his career at Illinois Wesleyan University, while Leah Hood (Oak Lawn) will play for Loras College.
Softball player Madison Franks (Garfield Ridge) will play for Loras College.

Volleyball teammates Ryann Horkavy (West Beverly) and Megan Krasowski (Oak Lawn) will play volleyball for Spring Hill College in Alabama and the University of Illinois at Springfield, respectively.
Chris Omiecinski will continue his volleyball career at Loras College.
Linebacker Liam Krammer (Palos Heights) will join the Illinois Wesleyan University football program.
Hockey players Joe Prkut (Palos Heights) and Andrew Reif (Alsip) will continue on as teammates at Ferris State University in Michigan.
Rounding out the ceremony were three track and cross country standouts. Carlin McNulty (Oak Lawn) will attend Loras College. Matt Wagner (Palos Heights) will run for Illinois Wesleyan University, while Maryclare Leonard (Orland Park) will attend and compete for the University of Notre Dame.
The high school said that 33 Marist seniors have committed to college athletic programs so far this year. Marist is a member of the competitive East Suburban Catholic Conference and its athletes and teams regularly garner success at the local and state levels.
