Mary Olsson, Ridge Run Founder And Ex-BAPA Leader, Dies

CHICAGO, IL - Mary Claire Quinn Olsson, an active member of the Beverly/Morgan Park community for years, died over the weekend. She was married to Kurt Olsson for 55 years and leaves behind three children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.

Olsson is a former president of the Ridge Historical Society and MPJR Woman's Club. She also served as the assistant director of the Department of Housing - Chicago and the associate director of the Beverly Area Planning Association.

According to an obituary from Curley Funeral Home, Olssoon lobbied for the Ridge Historic District, originated the Ridge Run and created the Irish Fest of Beverly Hills Morgan Park. She was also a member of the Jackson Park Yacht Club.

Services have been held at Curley Funeral Home in Chicago Ridge.
