CHICAGO—Sophomores from Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School have organized a fundraiser to support the family of Chicago firefighter Michael Altman, who lost his life last night fighting an arson fire on the city’s North Side. As daughters of Chicago Fire Department members, the students have a deep appreciation for the courage, dedication and selflessness that define the firefighting profession.

Commemorative T-shirts and crewneck sweatshirts will be available for purchase through the Macs Ltd. online store and at all athletic events on Thursday, April 30. On that day, students and members of the school community will “pass the boot” in the morning and at the games to collect additional donations.

All proceeds from both apparel sales and donations will be given directly to the Altman family.
