Mt. Greenwood Fall Festival Offers Boxing, Gyros, & Live Music
Ring in the season with a 'Fall Brawl' and some bluegrass music to go with it.
MT. GREENWOOD, IL — Fall is coming to Mt. Greenwood, which means music, gyros, and yes, amateur boxing.
The Mt. Greenwood Fall Festival will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. into the night at 3660 W. 111th Street in the rear parking lot. The event costs $20, and part of the proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics.
It will feature the Fall Brawl, a live amateur boxing match sponsored by Letz Box Chicago, a boxing club located just around the corner. The match will start at noon and feature amateur boxers from all over Chicagoland.

Starting at 5 p.m., there will be live music from country/soul band Over the Side Band, folk and bluegrass band the Coyote Riot Duo, and Rolling Stones tribute guitarist Mark Taylor.
Food will be provided all day long by Gyro Grill.

Other interesting events are taking place this weekend: a honey sale and tour of hive and urban farms at Eighty Nine Bees (Saturday from 11 to 1 at 8939 South Western Avenue) and on Sunday, Brother Rice High School is hosting an open house at 10001 S. Pulaski Avenue in Chicago from 11 to 1.
