Mt. Greenwood Man Charged With Class X Felony After Child Porn is Found in Home: Cops
Ald. Matt O'Shea said most of the alleged images recovered in man's home depicted children under 13.

CHICAGO, IL -- Chicago police arrested a Mt. Greenwood man after child pornography images were found in his home.
Russell L. Rhoads, 51, is facing Class X felony charges of possession of child pornography. He was arrested Feb. 2 in the 10700 block of South Homan Avenue.
Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) said Rhoads’ arrest came after a months’ long investigation by a special unit of the Chicago Police Department.

“It was a very thorough investigation,” O’Shea said. “I believe [CPD] have been tracking this guy for several months.”

“Most of his alleged actions involve the computer,” the alderman said. “He’s in custody. It’s important that we have court advocates and concerned residents show up in court.”

O’Shea said in an earlier statement to constituents that he’s been in contact with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office to ensure that the community is represented throughout the trial.
