CHICAGO — CPD Commander Sean Joyce cordially invites residents to living within the 22nd boundaries to National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 1. The public safety event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ridge Park, 9625 S. Longwood Ave., featuring food, fun, games and more.

Learn about personal safety, watch demos and visit the Fab Fun Gaming truck. Most important, come meet your local police officers and neighbors.

National Night Out sponsors include the Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th), Ald. Ronnie Mosely (21st), Glen Lerner Gives Back, Morgan Park Sports Center, Walgreens and the Blue Door Neighborhood Center.

National Night Out was introduced in 1984 as a police and community building event focusing on public safety. It is traditionally held on the first Tuesday night in August.
