Oktoberfiesta at Rock Island Public House 'Wurst' Fest - Best Food!
Blue Island owners host unique OKTOBERFIESTA 2023 with food, music, giveaways, Half Acre Brew, Bizarro & Son and Turnip Seed Saturday
Billed as absolutely the “Wurst”, the Rock Island Public House’s Oktoberfiesta in Blue Island puts a new spin on the world's largest Volksfest Saturday, October 21 from 4 p.m. until midnight.
Whether it’s “Willkommen” or “Bienvenida” or just “Welcome”, the owners of the Public House, Jen and Dave Brown, want you to know Oktoberfiesta 2023 is stretching the calendar - and the rules - for a truly unique late-season gathering of beer, beverages, music and a special appearance by the Half Acre Beer Company, which will be in the house with giveaways and freebies.
A special German menu from Bizarro & Son in collaboration with Turnip Seed will please everyone’s palate and native tongue.

A sneak peak at Saturday’s menu reveals very traditional German fare: Schnitzel Sliders, Pretzel Brats, Roots Potato Dumplings, Bavarian Pretzel Bites, Quetzal Spaetzle Soup.

Founded in 2007, Half Acre is one of Chicago’s pioneering breweries with original brewing roots back in Black River Falls, Wisconsin for clients such as Chicago bars and shops.

In 2013, Half Acre purchased 2050 West Balmoral Avenue in Chicago, allowing Half Acre to grow into the regional brewery known for Daisy Cutter and other craft beers taking hold of the market in Chicago. The Balmoral production brewery is also home to its own taproom, beer garden and shop.
“We have the best of all worlds Saturday for our loyal followers,” said Jennifer Brown. “Those new to the Public House will be surprised by the kind of fun unique nights like this bring.”
