On Tuesday, July 30 the 2013 Roadwork Ahead: Construction Careers Expo will link people interested in construction careers with trade unions, training partners and community organizations and provide information on skills needed to work for unions and companies participating in upcoming Illinois Tollway projects. The Expo will begin with a presentation from the Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) on skills needed to qualify for membership in various construction unions. Following the presentation, skilled and construction trade unions, including Operating Engineers Local 150, Chicagoland Laborers Joint Training and Apprenticeship and Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, will be available to answer questions about requirements to enter the union. For more information or to register, visit the “Doing Business” section on the Illinois Tollway’s website www.illinoistollway.com. Pre-registration closes at 12 p.m. on July 29, 2013.
