O'Shea Has Possible Challenger In 2019 19th Ward Election
David Dewar of Mount Greenwood has filed petitions to run as a challenger to Matt O'Shea in the 19th Ward.

CHICAGO - Two people have filed petitions to get their names on the ballot in the 2019 19th Ward City of Chicago election.
The incumbent, Matthew J. O'Shea of the West Beverly neighborhood, filed his petitions at 9 a.m. on Nov. 19.
A possible challenger, David A. Dewar of the Mount Greenwood neighborhood, filed petitions at 9:13 a.m. on Nov. 26.

The unofficial candidate list for all city of Chicago elections was released here on Tuesday.
The deadline for candidates to file petitions in all city races was Monday.

The Chicago primary is Feb. 26, 2019. To avoid a runoff, which would occur on April 2, 2019, candidates must win 50+1, meaning candidates must get 50 percent of the vote, plus 1.
