O'Shea Says New Registered Sex Offender Has Moved into Mt. Greenwood
Man recently completed sentence for attempted murder, criminal sexual assault and home invasion, alderman said.

CHICAGO, IL -- Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) is notifying local schools and neighbors of a registered sex offender who has moved into the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood.
Thomas Felton (aka Felten), 50, has moved into a residence in the 11101 block of South Trumbull Ave. He was convicted in 1997 of attempted murder, criminal sexual assault and home invasion. Felton was 27 and his victim 17 at the time of the offense, according to the Illinois Sex Offender Registry.
"Given Mr. Felton's criminal history, his presence in our community, though legal, is extremely disconcerting to me …,” O’Shea said in an email blast to residents. “While there is currently no legal reason Mr. Felton cannot reside on the 11100 block of S. Trumbull Ave., I feel strongly that educating the public about this potential threat is critically important.”

The alderman said that because Felton’s crimes involved teenage girls, he has notified local schools. The Chicago Police Department is also monitoring the matter.
“Should you witness any suspicious activity, please contact 9-1-1 immediately,” O’Shea said.
