CHICAGO — Chicago 22nd District Police are looking for the driver of an SUV left one man dead and another man in a wheelchair seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in West Beverly.

Around 6:20 p.m. Thursday, a 63-year-old man pushing a 56-year-old man in a wheelchair was crossing the street on 95th Street at Ashland Avenue, when both were struck by a white Chevy SUV. Police said the driver did not stop.

The man in the wheelchair was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition. The 63-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. According to reports, at least one man was dragged to 89th Street and Ashland.

Police are looking for a 2007 white Chevrolet Equinox, bearing an Illinois plate CZ74463. Witnesses describe the driver as an African American man, approximately 5-feet-10-inches to 6-feet tall, 25 to 35 years old, with a slender build.
