Police Assist Woman Shot Driving Down 95th Street
Police said woman was shot in Washington Heights and pulled over in Beverly where she called for help.

A woman originally reported to have been shot while driving through Beverly on Tuesday morning was actually shot in Washington Heights.
Officer Jose Estrada, of Chicago Police News Affairs, said that a 41-year-old woman was traveling westbound on 95th Street around 9:15 a.m. when she “heard gunfire and felt pain.”
Police said the woman told them she was near 95th Street and Justine Avenue in the Washington Heights neighborhood.

“She was driving westbound and feels pain,” Estrada said. “She ended up driving down 95th Streetand pulled over on to Hamilton to call 911.”
Offices from the 22nd Police District were dispatched for a person shot on Hamilton in the Beverly area, where they assisted the woman.

The woman suffered a gunshot wound in her right elbow and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in stable condition, according to the Chicago Tribune.
“It turned out that she didn’t get in the [Beverly] area. It’s a fastly developing situation,” Estrada said. “We erroneously said that’s where she got shot.”
