Preschool, Kindergarten Admissions Event At MPA

Faculty members will be available for conversations with families of preschool and kindergarten children on June 28.

CHICAGO, IL - Faculty members at Morgan Park Academy will be on hand to answer questions about the school's Early Childhood education programs at a free admission event from 6-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 28 at the school located at 2153 W. 111th St. in the city's Beverly/Morgan Park neighborhood. Families with preschool and kindergarten-aged children should bring the kids for this event, which will have popsicles available for kids and adults.

Indexed tuition has made it possible for an MPA education to be available for families of socioeconomically diverse backgrounds. The school currently has students from more than 80 different zip codes. Students come from all over the city of Chicago, many suburbs and from Northwest Indiana. The school also has 28 international students.

"We want students to leave MPA understanding that their neighborhood and their city aren't everything, that we are part of a larger world that we have a responsibility to," Head of School Mercedes Z. Sheppard said. “Our goal is to help students widen their perspective... We show them the world and challenge them to step outside their comfort zones -- and their zip codes.”
