Let Matt O'Shea Pump Your Gas At Shell For 'Get Behind the Vest'

CHICAGO — Gas up your tank at Shell Gas Station, 2632 W. 111th St., Chicago, starting Sunday, Feb. 18 through Saturday, Feb. 24. For every gallon pumped, 15 cents will be donated to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation’s “Get Behind The Vest” initiative to buy or replace bulletproof vests for Chicago police officers.

Shell has generously donated five cents per every gallon pumped, to be matched by donors Beverly Bank & Trust and AthleteX. And, from 1 to 3 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23, Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) will be the celebrity gas attendant at Shell.

Additionally, O’Shea will once again join forces with WGN-AM Radio’s Home Sweet Home Chicago with David Hochberg, to host a “Vest-A-Thon” on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 10 a.m. to p.m. on WGN-AM/720.

Both events are precursors to the “Get Behind The Vest” pancake breakfast Sunday, Feb. 25 Stop by for pancakes from 8 a.m., to noon at St. John Fisher School, 10200 S. Washtenaw Ave. In the past decade, the pancake breakfast has raised over $585,000 to support CPMF’s vest mission.
