Purses Snatched By Man Who Targeted Women In Morgan Park

Chicago police are investigating two incidents in which women had their purses snatched while walking near Vincennes Avenue.

CHICAGO, IL - Chicago police officers in the 22nd District are investigating two incidents in which women were approached by a man who forcibly took their purse near Vincennes Avenue in the eastern part of Morgan Park.

A community alert was issued Tuesday night regarding incidents that occurred in the 1600 block of West Monterey on Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. and in the 10600 block of South Martin Street on Jan. 7 at 8:30 a.m.

In both incidents, a man forcibly grabbed the purse from the woman and fled the scene driving a red Hyundai Tucson SUV.

The offender was described in both incidents as an African-American man between 30 and 35 years old, approximately 6'0", 175-200 pounds with a dark complexion. He was wearing a ski mask during both crimes.
