Renaissance Chicago Offers Classes For Life-Long Learners 55+ At SXU

CHICAGO — Life-long learners aged 55 and over are invited to continue learning, sharing and enjoying life at Renaissance Chicago Academy at Saint Xavier University, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago.

Six-week terms will be offered in the fall, winter and spring starting Oct. 8. Classes are held in the afternoons at SXU in person on Tuesday and Thursday, and on Zoom Wednesday.

Topics include art, history, music, travel, birds, news and views, psychology and “the novels you weren’t ready for in high school.” (Sinclair Lewis’s “Main Street” comes to mind.)

For a fee of $180 per year, members can take one to three courses per term, attend a welcome session on Sept. 28, enjoy luncheons in the winter and spring, and access to some SXU amenities, including the SXU library, lounges and cafe, and Shannon Center on class days. Members will also be able to attend two speakers forums with noted presenters and enjoy a light lunch.
