Rock Island Public House New Year's Eve Party Hip, Ticket Only Affair

Rock Island Public House owners regard the 2023 new year "like the hurdle to clear to leave the struggles of the previous three years."

New Year’s Eve parties close out a year in celebratory fashion and open minds and dreams as to what’s next.

Few owners of establishments honor the past and embrace the future as well as those at the Rock Island Public House. Hipper than tomorrow and way ahead of yesterday, Dave and Jen Brown have created a vibe that makes every night like New Year’s Eve in Berlin or any afternoon time standing still.

“We throw a damn good party and always exceed expectations,” said Jen Brown. “This 2023 new year feels like the hurdle to clear to leave the struggles of the previous three years a distant memory.”

With no more direction than #dresstoimpress - or please yourself - $135 secures a spot for everything in full revelry but does not include dance shoes.

“Hearty conversation, people laughing, dancing and letting their hair down is the New Year’s Eve way to make it memorable,” said Dave, a native of New Orleans with an advance degree in “marvelous house party protocol.”

“We can’t wait to kick open the doors to the best party we can throw.”

As luck would have it, Red’s the People’s Pie pops up for the last day of the year and first of the new with its distinctive Detroit pan pizza and unique new recipe.

“The recipe was not passed down, it’s something newly created in our own personal kitchen,” said owner Ryan Barth. “By combining the greatest things in the world - butter and beer - we feel we’ve brought something different to the table. Our tavern style is an ode to and love song to the pizza I grew up with.”

Lyft and Uber drivers are familiar with the Blue Island community and are readily available for reservations one way and round trip.
