Man Caught Stealing Women's Clothes From Carson's: Cops

A Northbrook man faces two misdemeanors after store security found him removing sensors from women's clothes, police said.

WILMETTE, IL - Police in Wilmette say a loss prevention worker at a retail store detained a man for stealing women's clothing over the weekend. Krzysztof Perkowski, 41, of Northbrook was later charged with two misdemeanors in connection with the alleged crime reported on Sunday at the Carson Pirie Scott at 3200 Lake Ave. in the Edens Plaza.

Police responded to the store at 4:12 p.m. after they were told a man was in custody after being caught attempting to steal the clothing items. Store security told police Perkowski used a device to remove security sensors from all articles of clothing.

Perkowski was taken to the police station and charged with two retail theft offenses: retail theft under $300 and possession of a theft detection devise remover. He was released after posting a $1,500 bond.
