Sell Or Donate Your Formal Dresses To McAuley Prom Dress Resale Event

Clean out your closet and donate your gently used formal dresses Saturday, Jan. 21, to the Mother McAuley Mothers Club Prom Resale event.

CHICAGO — Are bridesmaid dresses and old formals cluttering up your closet? The Mother McAuley High School Mothers Club is collecting gently used dresses for the annual Graduation and Prom Dress Resale Event. Drop off dresses from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 at Circle Drive outside the high school, 3737 W. 99th St., Chicago. No dresses will be accepted outside this time and date.

Dresses may be donated or sold for profit. Sellers will receive 70 percent of the selling price. The remaining 30 percent will benefit the Mother’s Club fundraising efforts. Sellers must complete an information form and dress description form, which will be provided at dress drop off on Jan. 21 only.

Dresses must be clean and free of defects. The McAuley Mothers Club reserves the right to refuse any dress. Dresses must meet the following criteria:

  • Formal evening wear/black tie dresses.
  • Cocktail or short dresses will NOT be accepted.
  • Dresses must be dry-cleaned, without any stains or tears and have working zippers and buttons.
  • Mother McAuley reserves the right to refuse any dress.
  • Unsold dresses can be picked up after the sale from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Jan. 28. Any dress that is not picked up will be considered a donation to the school.

The Mother McAuley Mothers Club dress sale will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 28. Cash and credit/debit cards are accepted. All sales are FINAL.
