Brother Rice Locker Room Burglarized During Football Game In Crete

Up to 38 smart phones, wallets and keys were reportedly stolen from the visitors locker room during the Br. Rice football game in Crete.

CRETE, IL -- The visitors locker room at Crete-Monee High School was reportedly burglarized during Friday’s game with Br. Rice. The Crusaders were playing the Warriors on Crete-Monee High School’s home turf in Crete. Br. Rice’s varsity football team lost the game 33-25 against the Warriors.

Up to 38 smart phones, dozens of sets of keys and wallets with licenses and other personal information were reportedly stolen from the visitors’ locker room. Police reports were filed with the Crete Police Department.

“Thefts did occur,” said Rich Lane, assistant varsity football coach for Brother Rice High School. “Brother Rice did file a police report. The kids stayed after the game to talk to police.”

The Crete police chief and Crete-Monee High School could not immediately be reached for comment.
