Southland Personal Trainer Wins America's Next Great Trainer Challenge
And shakes Arnold Schwarzenegger's hand, too. Watch Darin Steen, of The Transformation Station, reflect on his big win.

Darin Steen’s biceps pop like not-so-small rocks. That’s befitting for a man who goes to The Arnold Sports Festival (as in Arnold Schwarzenegger) in Ohio and wins the 2015 America’s Next Great Trainer Challenge.
The 50-year-old Mokena personal trainer was presented with a $15,000 check — and his victory won him a handshake with Schwarzenegger himself.
From a field of 200 trainers, Steen emerged as one of four finalists. In the final challenge, reviewed by a panel of 10 experts before a live audience, Steen had to design a fitness program for a 40-year-old with severe physical restrictions and health issues.

“I train a lot of different people, but my average client is 40 to 50 years old. ... time-starved ... stressed ... and probably on three or four meds ... and thinking their best days are behind them,” Steen recently told the Daily Southtown.
