For those that cannot make Friday’s events, Southsiders for Peace will gather at 95th Street and Western Avenue from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 2. The group will demonstrate at the intersection with signs, chants and music to demand “No War, Abolish ICE, Workers Over Billionaires.” People are asked to register in advance at MobilizeUs.
“Millions have shouted ‘NO!’ at No Kings rallies across the nation,” Southsiders for Peace said in a statement. “But it will take more than that to stop this fascist MAGA movement and Project 2025. We have to shout ‘NO BUSINESS AS USUAL!’—no school, no shopping, take the day off from work, organize and demonstrate.”
