'A Choice Between Erasure And Equality' Protest Planned Saturday At 95th And Western

Southsiders for Peace take part in the nationwide "Truth, Equality and Freedom" for voter rights Saturday, June 27, at 95th and Western.

CHICAGOβ€”Southsiders for Peace will join the nationwide mobilization for β€œTruth, Equality and Freedom” ahead of America’s 250th anniversary Saturday, June 27. Friends and supporters are invited to join the local activist group at 95th Street and Western Avenue in Evergreen Park from 3 to 5 p.m.

β€œThis year marks the 250th Anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence, and our country is at an unprecedented crossroads. At a time when our country should be coming together to celebrate all that we are, how far we’ve come, and commit to finishing the work to make America a place where freedom and equality are truly for all, a white supremacist faction is pushing our country in the opposite direction,” said All of US 250 in a statement, which is organizing the national mobilization.

As the Supreme Court continues to strike down tools to protect minority voting rights, citizens will be mobilizing Saturday throughout the country to fight for voting rights and the erasure of equality.
