St. Christina Students 'Light The Line' At First Responder Mass
St. Christina students will present a donation to mom of fallen CPD Ofcr. Ella French after a mass honoring first responders Sun., Sept. 29.

CHICAGO — Mt. Greenwood kids are especially attuned to the needs and challenges of first responders, having celebrated more than a few major holidays the day before or after while their parents work shifts as police officers, firefighters, 911 dispatchers, nurses and doctors.
On Sunday, Sept. 29, the students of St. Christina School will present a special donation to Elizabeth French, mother of fallen Chicago Police Officer Ella French, benefiting the Light the Line organization.
The presentation of the donation will take place immediately following the 10:30 a.m. mass at St, Christina, 11005 S. Homan Ave., Chicago, which will feature a blessing for first responders.

Neighborhood police and fire departments, the Light the Line van and the Emerald Society Pipe and Drum Band will all be present at the gathering. All members of the community who are first responders—both active and retired— are invited to attend as well as all who wish to show solidarity and appreciation for our brave emergency workers.
Light the Line was formed by Elizabeth and Ella’s partners, Carlos Yanez, and Jason Blas to provide vital emotional support and resources to police officers working challenging shifts. They also deploy to tragedies and scenes of violence across our city to support those who serve and protect us.
