St. Rita Alum Darius Fleming to Throw Out First Pitch at White Sox Game Saturday
The honor comes for the New England Patriots linebacker who saved a woman's life in January.

CHICAGO, IL - Darius Fleming, a St. Rita alum who went on to play football at Notre Dame and won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots in 2015, will throw out the first pitch at U.S. Cellular Field Saturday before the Chicago White Sox take on the Cleveland Indians in their second home game of the season.

The ceremonial pitch will be made in honor of Fleming’s “heroic efforts” in saving the life of a woman who had been in a burning vehicle in Massachusetts back in January, a White Sox spokeswoman said Friday.
In the Massachusetts incident, Fleming needed several stitches after kicking in the door of a car where the woman was trapped.
Showing that St. Rita toughness, the former All-American linebacker played for the Patriots in their playoff game that same week against the Kansas City Chiefs.
