CHICAGO — Strong-arm robbers tried to procure cellphones from a group of teens in a park last Friday in West Beverly, Chicago police said.

According to police, around 6 p.m. Nov. 12, an SUV drove by the group in Munroe Park in the 2600 block of West 105th Street. Two males in their late teens jumped out of a Range Rover and demanded that the teens hand over their cell phones. Most of the teens fled for their own safety, but police said the robbers grabbed a girl and hit her as they stole her phone.

The pair got into a dark gray Range Rover drove off. The SUV was missing a rear license plate. Police said the robbers were wearing black ski masks.
