Suspect Shot, Wounded By Alsip Police Near 115th And Pulaski
Chicago police say a suburban officer opened fire on a suspect early Wednesday morning in Mount Greenwood.

CHICAGO, IL — A man was shot by Alsip police early Wednesday morning near 115th and Pulaski in Mount Greenwood, right at the border of south suburban Alsip and Chicago's Southwest Side. Chicago police say that the person shot, a 25-year-old man, was the driver of a car that was being pursued by suburban police officers and struck two police squad cars.
An officer from an outside agency, which according to multiple reports was the Alsip Police Department, "discharged his weapon" and struck the suspect after the squad cars were hit, police said.
The wounded suspect was hospitalized at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with gunshot wounds to the shoulder. Two police officers were also hospitalized for "precautionary reasons," according to Chicago police.

The investigation appears to be centered in the parking lot of the apartment complex just to the east of Marist High School. Due to the situation, Marist decided to have a "late start" today - delaying the start of the day by nearly an hour - but other than that the school day will go on as planned. The school can only be accessed from the south on Karlov and from the west on 115th.
A school spokeswoman said a call went out to parents and that information was posted on the school's website and social media channels early Wednesday morning.
As the investigation unfolds, traffic from the west on 115th Street is being diverted at Karlov. Expect significant delays on Alsip side streets in the area for awhile. Motorists who use 115th to get to the highway should find other alternatives like 111th Street or 123rd Street.
Here's what the scene looked like around 9 a.m.
