SXU hosted 10th Annual Breakfast with Your Legislators

Over 100 community members enjoyed a networking session and breakfast with Chicagoland elected officials at the 10th Annual Breakfast with Your Legislators on Friday, Oct. 30 at Saint Xavier University’s Chicago campus located at 3700 West 103rd Street.

Elected officials in attendance included: Congressman Dan Lipinski, State Sen. Bill Cunningham, State Sen. Mike Hastings, State Rep. Kelly Burke, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board Commissioner John Daley, and Chicago Ald. Matt O’Shea.

Guests listened as elected officials answered questions from the audience about the debt ceiling, Monetary Award Program (MAP) funding and the Illinois budget crisis. Additionally, the general assembly discussed criminal justice issues and addressed the affects minimum wage has on small business owners.
