One of the best days of the year got underway in the Beverly neighborhood with the 39th annual Ridge Run.

Thousands of runners and walkers convened at Ridge Park on Longwood Drive for the 5K, 10K, Youth Mile and Tot Trot races. Race results are expected to be posted on Tuesday, May 31.

Afterwards participants, spectators and neighbors enjoyed each other’s company for a post-race festival in the park.

The races were immediately followed by the Beverly Hills, Mt. Greenwood and Morgan Park Memorial Day Parade’s Salute to America Heroes.
