Top Speeds Reached During Beverly Hills Cycling Classic

Watch cyclists reach top speeds up and down the hills of Beverly and Morgan Park during the 2017 Beverly Hills Cycling Classic.

CHICAGO, IL -- Hundreds gathered around the south end of Beverly Friday night for "Bikes And Brews," the 15th annual Beverly Hills Cycling Classic. The race was the first in the the first in the Prairie States Cycling Series Intelligentsia Cup series in 2017.

Neighborhood residents and visitors were entertained by an event record four races and numerous food trucks and beer offerings on a grassy field just east of Beacon School at 107th and Longwood. Fans decked out in racing gear all along Longwood between 107th and 105th.

Many were impressed with the speeds reached by the cyclists, particularly at the start of the race. Beverly-Mt. Greenwood Patch captured the start of the race, when all cyclists in the main event zoomed past 107th and Longwood within seconds. Watch the video below or on the Beverly-Mt.
