Unlocked Cars Targeted By Thieves In Beverly

Several unlocked vehicles parked in Beverly overnight have been entered by thieves who pull on car door handles, police say.

CHICAGO, IL - A spree of thefts from cars has been reported in Beverly. In late June, six cars were entered and had property taken from inside between 95th and 107th streets, Maplewood and Longwood.

Chicago police issued an alert over the weekend to residents of the city's 22nd District alerting them of the recent trend and reminding them to always lock their vehicles.

The alert says suspects have been walking the streets between midnight and 5 a.m., pulling on door handles and entering the cars if they are unlocked. Similar incidents have been reported at the following dates and times.
