Video Shows Burglar Target Garages At 97th And Leavitt
A home surveillance system caught videos of a man who police believe has broke into multiple garages in the neighborhood this month.

CHICAGO, IL - A garage burglar was caught on a home surveillance video over the Memorial Day weekend in Beverly, where police and neighborhood residents say the man has targeted multiple homes this month.
A resident of the 9700 block of Leavitt Street shared multiple surveillance videos with Beverly-Mt. Greenwood Patch after the burglary was reported. They show an African-American man who appears to be in his 30s walk up a driveway on the block around 4:45 a.m. on May 26 and try to enter the garage of the man who shared the video.
The burglar failed, but hopped a fence and tried to burglarize the garage next door before succeeding in burglarizing the garage of the home two doors down.

Police say the suspect in this incident is also suspected of two other garage burglaries earlier in the month. One was reported in the 9500 block of South Seeley Avenue between May 9 and 11 and the other on May 20 in the 1700 block of West 102nd Street.
In all three cases, the man forcibly entered the garages and took tools and bicycles.

This video shows the burglar walk up the driveway near 97th and Leavitt at the 1:35 mark. His face is most clear in this shot.
Here is another angle taken at the same time. This one shows the burglar approach two other garages on the block, succeeding in his third break-in attempt. Fast forward to the 49 second mark of the video to see him enter the shot.
