Virtual Community Meeting To Address Residential Flooding in 19th Ward

CHICAGO — The Chicago Department of Water Management and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District will participate in a virtual community meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29. Both agencies share was learned from their investigation into residential flooding problems on the Southwest Side, and take questions from residents.

Thousands of homes in the 19th Ward, Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Hometown and Blue Island experienced flooding after experiencing a significant rainstorm July 17. Ald. Matt O’Shea asked DWM and MWRD to conduct an investigation of the storm to identify factors that contributed to significant residential flooding. Please register to participate.
