Visitation and Funeral Masses Set for Fallen CPD Officers

Visitations and funeral Masses will be held at Blake-Lamb and St. Rita of Cascia for Chicago police officers struck by train.

CHICAGO, IL -- There will be back-to-back visitations and funeral Masses for the two Chicago police officers who were struck and killed Monday evening while investigating a suspected gunman, the Chicago Police Department announced. Both visitations and funerals will be held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home and St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel.

Visitation for CPD Officer Conrad Gary, 31, will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St. (103rd Street and Cicero Avenue) in Oak Lawn. A St. Jude ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. during the visitation. Officer Gary’s funeral Mass is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave. (77th Street and Western Avenue), Chicago.

Chicago police officers will gather again at Blake-Lamb from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, for Officer Eduardo Marmolejo, 36. A St. Jude ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. during the visitation. The funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at St. Rita of Cascia.

Burial for both will be private, the police department said.

They are the third and fourth Chicago police officers to die in the line of duty this year.
