CHICAGO — Area groups, individuals and families are invited to help with the fall outdoor clean up from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Eugene S. Pike House, 1826 W. 91st St., located on the southern boundary of Dan Ryan Woods in North Beverly.

Originally built in 1894 as a gardener’s cottage on the private estate of Eugene Samuel Pike, the house was added to the list of the 2022 Most Endangered Historic Places in Illinois by Landmarks Illinois, the preservation advocacy organization. The house is a contributing structure for the Ridge Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

The home currently sits on property owned by the Forest Preserves of Cook County. The Beverly Area Planning Association and Ridge Historical Society have since banded together to save the house.
