Western Avenue Bars Targeted By Concrete-Throwing Thief
Alcohol, cigarettes and money were taken from businesses between 100th and 104th on three separate occasions.
CHICAGO - Police in the city's 22nd District have notified residents of three recent incidents in which either a liquor store or bar on Western Avenue was burglarized by a thief who threw pieces of concrete through windows to get inside.
Once inside, the man stole money, alcohol and cigarettes from businesses in the 10000 block of South Western Ave. at 1:30 a.m. on March 10 and 11 p.m. on March 15 and in the 10300 block of Western at 6:30 a.m. on March 18.
Police have not released surveillance images or video, but said that at least one video showing a suspect does exist. The suspect is described as an African-American man, 30-40 years old who was wearing glasses. He has a short beard, was wearing a New York Yankees baseball hat and a black winter coat.

He loiters in front of the closed business for 5-10 minutes before breaking the glass, police said.
