10 Candidates In Valley View Board Of Education Race

There are three open positions up for election.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — In a crowded Valley View School District Board of Education race, there are 10 candidates running for three open positions on the board in the April 4 consolidated election, according to the unofficial candidate list from the Will County Clerk's Office.

Candidates could withdraw from candidacy, but as of Dec. 28, 10 candidates will run for the three open positions.

The three positions are for 4-year terms.

The candidates are:

  • James "JT" Boudouris
  • William "Bill" Spengler
  • Nicole Pelzman
  • Victoria "Vickie" Sutterlin
  • Diane Parro
  • Laurie Ann Smith
  • Steven A. Quigley
  • Randall Sutton
  • Jon-Pierre Bradley
  • Rafael Ortiz

Quigley, Boudouris and Parro are incumbent board members. Quigley has served as Board President since 2009.

Valley View School District was formed in 1972, and serves about 16,000 students in Bolingbrook and Romeoville and portions of Plainfield, Lockport and Downers Grove, according to the district website.
