15 Students to Compete in Valley View Spelling Bee
The bee will be held at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2 in Bolingbrook. Admission is free.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — Fifteen middle school spelling champions will vie for the Valley View School District 365U Spelling Bee championship at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at Humphrey Middle School in Bolingbrook.
Among them will be Lukancic’s Arta Osmani who was second at last year’s Will County Spelling Bee and Brooks’ Simran Sanghera who was 5th at last year’s VVSD Spelling Bee.

The top finisher from each of the five VVSD middle schools on Feb. 2 will advance to the Will County Spelling Bee where they will compete for the right to move on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.
The competitors will be: Monika Mikuckas (6th), Savannah Anderson (7th) and Osmani (8th) from Lukancic; Shaniya Jones (6th), Angelique Isaguirre (77th) and Abdullah Shoaib (8th) from Martinez; Haley Cushing (6th), Samantha Welko (7th) and Juls Staggs (8th) from Humphrey; Danielle Vidad (6th), Alex Doyle (7th) and Akilah Essex (8th) from Jane Addams; and Marjia Ahmed (6th), Numa Noorin (7th) and Sanghera (8th) from Brooks.
