15-Year-Old Charged After Girl Shot During Drug Deal In Bolingbrook

The 15-year-old was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, after police located him near the intersection of Lily Cache Lane and Plainview Drive.

BOLINGBROOK, IL — A 15-year-old male was taken into custody Saturday in connection with a shooting which happened during a pre-arranged narcotics deal on Friday in Bolingbrook, according to Bolingbrook Police.

The 15-year-old was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, after police located him near the intersection of Lily Cache Lane and Plainview Drive. Police said that after consultation with the Will County State's Attorney Office, the suspect was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and taken to the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.

The shooting happened during a pre-arranged drug deal, and a 17-year-old girl was shot near Lexington Drive and Lee Lane on Friday afternoon. Bolingbrook Police said a handgun has been recovered.

The girl has been taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition, police said Friday.

Police conducted a search for two teenage suspects, only one has been taken into custody so far. Both teens fled on foot, police said.
