2 Bolingbrook Officers Honored With Pillars Of Valley View Awards

BOLINGBROOK, IL - Last week, a pair of Bolingbrook Police Officers who are assigned to Bolingbrook High School as school resource officers were given special honors. The Valley View School District honored Officer John Ivlow and Officer Antonio Tucker at its school board meeting. Ivlow and Tucker were named as "Pillars Of Valley View," a prestigious award. According to a press release, Bolingbrook High School Principal Jason Pascavage and Assistant Principal Albert Brass acknowledged the officers for their outstanding efforts.

A release from the school district notes that "Officer Ivlow has coached football and a wrestling, served as coordinator for Crimestoppers and the Bolingbrook Police Youth Council. In addition, he is a community service assigner and the original assistant for the HEART organization."

Ivlow has been Bolingbrook's long-time football coach and he captured a state championship in 2011. He played college football at Northwestern and then at Colorado State University and then went on to play as a running back in the NFL including a short stint with the Chicago Bears in 1993. Ivlow grew up in Plainfield where he was an outstanding athlete at Plainfield High School.

As for Tucker, he has been assigned to Bolingbrook High School for the past three years "where he has been a guest speaker for H20 as well as the community coordinator and community service assigner."
