Bolingbrook Park District Hosts Statewide Event For Recreation Professionals

BOLINGBROOK, IL – On May 7, park and recreation professionals from around the state will head to Bolingbrook for an Illinois Parks & Recreation Association event called "Park Pursuit," the park district shared in a news release.

The park district, with support from the Village of Bolingbrook, will host this fun and competitive race, with a theme of “Get Your Kicks on Route 66,” in honor of the 100^th anniversary of America’s most famous roadway.

About 300 participants wearing blue event T-shirts will run through various neighborhoods and parks in and around Bolingbrook, the park district said. 60 volunteers in black T-shirts will man check-in locations at designated stops on the course. Participants are encouraged to remain on sidewalks and use safe crosswalks throughout the event. The course is designed to cause little to no disruption to the community, according to the park district.
