Bolingbrook Pet Supplies Plus Supports Live Like Roo Foundation

BOLINGBROOK, IL — The Bolingbrook Pet Supplies Plus will hold a special event for the Live Like Roo Foundation on Saturday.

The business, at 270 N. Bolingbrook Drive, will participate in Roo's Worldwide Ice Cream Social.

Organizers said the Live Like Roo Foundation is based in the Chicago area, and has assisted over 30,000 families and granted over $4 million in medical grants to pets with a cancer diagnosis.

"In memory of Roo, the dog that we lost to cancer, we take time to spread joy every spring and remember that life is about moments and memories. When Roo was starting to decline, all he would eat was ice cream. In his memory, we started to do an Ice Cream Social every year," event organizers said.

Pet Supplies Plus will host Summer Parties across the country to spread the message of the Live Like Roo Foundation, according to event organizers. Nutrisource will match every Theo toy (up to $5,000) purchased for the cancer care package. In-store incentives include free Nutrisource samples, pup cups, giveaways and more.

In Chicagoland, customers will be able to round up at the register in June at 16 stores, including Bolingbrook, a news release shared.

Roo's Ice Cream Social will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Bolingbrook store.
